First let me preface with we're going to relate everything to "building blocks", we feel you should continually be "building" your web presense and as such we'll replenish your pile of blocks available each month to allow you to continue building this presense.
Price is ALWAYS an objection in selling, it doesn't matter if I tried to sell you a gadget for $500 or $5, you'd ask for a "Deal" - Instead of spending hours "selling" you, let's just tell you here it is, use it, if it makes you money then pay, if it doesn't then don't. We want to help your business succeed. We provide a pile of "building blocks" free for these customers (with a quite large limit on the number of blocks available each month).
What do you ask for if it's free? Let me be clear - We don't consider our service free, in fact we consider the very most basic site worth at least $10/month, and many small business sites are magnitudes more. However what we ask is that you donate what you consider the hosting worth to a charity and share with us some details - We want to build this into a success story of what this program has done to assist various charities. This isn't a short term commitment, this is free for life for the first 1000 sign ups. NOTE: This program MAY close after 1000 signups.
Of course one of your next question is "What are these limits?" - Technically each building block's usage (the number of blocks) is measured, we have limits that are approximately double our average small web site customers usage - This means if you're a small business using your site for marketing it's unlikely you'll receive any bill. If you're hosting a complex application you likely know that and realize you aren't going to qualify for a free account. If you aren't sure it's most likely free.
If it's free why do you need a credit card? Hosting is very often abused by spammers and we must do something to try to stop those people from using our services - We're out ONLY to market our services to businesses. We charge a small configuration fee to cover the time involved in setting up a site, currently $10. The credit card is also on file incase you go over these free limits.
How will I know if I go over the free limits? We warn you by email that your quota for the number of blocks available is almost out - At the beginning of each month we'll restack your "block pile" to enable you to continue building your web presense.
What should I expect to pay if I need more "blocks?" Very competative prices, try us, if you go over your block allotment you can always cancel and move the site elsewhere if you feel our prices aren't fair - In fact we'll guarantee you'll have 72 hours (3 days) to move your site after a warning without incurring any additional fees.
