- IIS 7 / Internet Information Server 7
- IIS 6 / Internet Information Server 6
- Apache
Does anyone not expect both Apache and IIS here?
We prefer IIS 7.0 over Apache for MOST applications, however we fully support Apache and run plenty of Apache servers also - For example our own SugarCRM install runs on Apache + MySQL and integrates with DotNetNuke on IIS 7.0 for the membership provider - All these components and integration was done in-house by our consultants available to help YOU too.
Why do we prefer IIS? Honestly because *IF* you end up with .Net code on your site we don't have to try to migrate to IIS. Beyond that if you have a static site or a PHP site I agree with you, there's no advantage - However being we're covering the extra costs (licenses) do you really care which one is used? If you do then we'll be happy to put you on Apache.
